Peter Gene Hernandez atau yang lebih dikenal dengan nama Bruno Mars lahir pada tanggal 8 Oktober 1985 di Honolulu, Hawaii. Dia merupakan seorang penyanyi Pop, Hip-Hop, Soul, R&B dan pencipta lagu California, Amerika Serikat. Ayahnya, Pete, seorang New Yorker, adalah pemain perkusi. Ibunya, Bernie, berdarah Filipina keturunan “Puerto Rico”, adalah seorang penari hula.


Bruno Mars mengawali karier tahun 2006, setelah menyelesaikan sekolahnya, dirinya pun hijrah ke Los Angeles. Kemudian Dia berkenalan dengan Aaron Bay Schuck, yang akhirnya menjadi manajernya dan menawari kontrak di bawah nauangan “Atlantic Records”.
